I was posed with the question the other day of if I thought it was absolutely necessary for trauma survivors to have to face the darkness of their trauma to be able to heal from it.

I can’t count how many times I have mumbled under my breath, THIS ISN’T FAIR.

…if one can’t allow the full impact of the sadness, it’s hard to be engulfed by the whole magnitude of joy.

Explaining secondary trauma as I know it is difficult to do without feeling like I am putting blame on the survivor.
